• Vessel Handling: Teaching you how to operate your yacht in different conditions and environments. This could include controlling speed, steering, and maneuvering in tight spaces like marinas or during docking.

• Docking: Demonstrating the techniques for safe and efficient docking. This often requires an understanding of wind, currents, and boat handling, as well as the ability to react quickly and calmly in close quarters.

• Communications: Radio communications are not only essential, but knowing proper radio etiquette can be lifesaving. I can show you how you can communicate with other methods such as with satellite phones much more.

• Emergencies: What to do in the event of a M.O.B., emergency drills, emergency signals, and how to use Life Rafts & EPIRBS

• Weather: Understanding & plotting with weather forecasts, tides & currents.

• Chart Plotting: Introducing to navigation using both paper charts and electronic chartplotters, you will learn to plot courses, read charts, and interpret depths, hazards, and landmarks.

• Radar Plotting: Using radar to navigate and detect obstacles in low-visibility conditions. Radar plotting involves interpreting radar data to track nearby vessels or land formations.

• Dead Reckoning: Teaching the traditional method of navigation based on course and speed, where you calculate your position without relying on GPS or external landmarks. This is a vital skill, especially when electronic systems fail.

• Maintenance & Care: Providing knowledge on how to maintain your vessel in top condition, covering engine care, hull maintenance, and other essential tasks that ensure the yacht remains in working order and safe to operate.

• Systems: Understanding your vessels systems may be complex, I can help simplify and map out your vessels systems so you can enjoy every voyage.

• Insurance Policy: After completing lessons, I can sign off on the required time frames that might be required by your insurance broker to qualify for your vessels insurance policy.
